Ankara, Turkey โ 11 December 2024:- In a landmark development, the leaders of Somalia and Ethiopia have reached a historic agreement in Ankara, Turkey, to normalize relations and lay the groundwork for a new era of cooperation. Facilitated by the President of Tรผrkiye, H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoฤan, the discussions between Somali President H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Ethiopian Prime Minister H.E. Abiy Ahmed Ali culminated in the signing of the Ankara Declaration.
The meeting, held in a spirit of mutual respect and constructive dialogue, marks a significant turning point in the often-fraught relations between the two neighbors.
