Djibouti – President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, hosted a luncheon in honor of former Somali leaders following the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Somalia Peace and Reconciliation Conference held in Arta.

During the meeting, President Hassan Sheikh briefed the former heads of state on the government’s comprehensive national agenda, which focuses on state-building, infrastructure development, completion of the constitution, strengthening of the multi-party system, national security, and the fight against terrorism.
The discussion highlighted the government’s commitment to consolidating the gains made over the past years and steering Somalia toward lasting peace and stability.
In their remarks, the former Somali leaders commended the progress achieved under President Hassan Sheikh’s leadership, offering constructive advice and emphasizing the importance of holding one-person-one-vote elections and reinforcing the pillars of good governance.

The engagement symbolized unity of purpose among Somalia’s past and present leadership, reflecting a shared vision for a peaceful, democratic, and prosperous nation.
