Baidoa, Somalia – February 10, 2025- In a landmark move aimed at ensuring the effective delivery of aid to vulnerable populations, President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed, popularly known as Laftagaren, signed into law the Safeguarding of Humanitarian Assistance Bill. The signing ceremony, held in Baidoa, was attended by Southwest State cabinet members, United Nations representatives, and humanitarian partners operating in the region.
The event was graced by George Conway, the Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and UN Resident Coordinator, who lauded the initiative as a significant step toward strengthening humanitarian efforts in Southwest State.
