Mogadishu – Somdaily.com — The Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, H.E. Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur (Madoobe), on Thursday hosted a high-level political meeting at his residence, bringing together key leaders from the South West State.
In attendance were the President of the South West State, H.E. Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed (Laftagareen), and the former Speaker of the Federal Parliament and current MP, Hon. Mohamed Mursal Sheikh Abdirahman. The meeting was also witnessed by MP Adan Mohamed Nur (Saransoor).
According to sources, the primary objective of the session was to finalize and reinforce the political agreement reached last week in Nairobi, Kenya, between President Laftagareen and former Speaker Mursal. The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to promoting unity, cohesion, and collaborative governance within the South West State, while ensuring that citizens across the region receive the state services and constitutional entitlements they are owed.
The discussions further delved into the broader national context, with emphasis on the political and security landscape in the South West State. The leaders exchanged perspectives on governance, development priorities, and the need to advance stability across the region.
Speaker Sheikh Adan Madoobe, who closed the meeting, lauded the participants for demonstrating political maturity and collective responsibility.
