Mogadishu, Somalia – February 4, 2025- In a landmark move for the nation, the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has officially signed the Somali Labor Law. This pivotal legislation, submitted by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, was previously approved by both Houses of the Federal Parliament, marking a significant step forward in safeguarding workers’ rights and fostering a fair and equitable working environment in Somalia.
The newly enacted law is designed to ensure the rights of Somali workers, emphasizing principles of equality and freedom in the workplace. The Federal Government Minister for Labor and Social Affairs, His Excellency Yusuf Mohamed Adan, expressed gratitude to President Mohamud for his leadership in signing the law.
