Mogadishu — SomDaily.com :- President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, on Thursday hosted renowned Somali Qur’an scholar Sheikh Cabdirashiid Sheikh Cali Suufi at the Presidential Palace for a wide-ranging consultation.
According to the Presidency, the meeting formed part of ongoing engagements between the Head of State and national religious leaders aimed at strengthening social cohesion, peacebuilding efforts, and the preservation of Islamic values across the country.
During the discussion, President Hassan Sheikh and Sheikh Suufi exchanged views on the current state of the nation, the importance of enhancing public awareness, and the critical role played by the Somali clergy in countering extremism, promoting unity, and guiding the moral fabric of society.
President Hassan Sheikh praised the Somali ulema for their longstanding commitment to educating the public, fostering peace, and safeguarding national stability. He underscored the government’s appreciation for the scholars’ contributions to combating radicalization and nurturing a resilient, well-informed society.
Sheikh Cabdirashiid Sheikh Cali Suufi expressed gratitude to the President for the warm reception, offering prayers for continued peace, progress, and prosperity for the Somali people and government.
