Waajid, Bakool – Somadily.com : – A delegation led by the Minister of Ports and Marine Transport, Abdikadir Maxamednur (Jama), arrived today in Waajid, Bakool region. The visit aims to officially launch the voter registration process, which is expected to commence soon in the district.

Also present in Waajid are members of the National Independent Electoral Commission (NIEC) and the Boundary Commission, who will participate in the official opening of the voter registration activities.
Minister Abdikadir Jama wrote on his Facebook page: “A nationwide campaign is underway to ensure that every citizen has the opportunity to cast their vote, with Waajid becoming one of the key locations where voter registration will take place.”
The Minister further noted that for the first time in 56 years, the people of Waajid will have a golden opportunity to participate in the ongoing electoral process across the country.
He also praised the South West State Administration and the Waajid District authorities for their strong preparation and community mobilization efforts in support of the registration campaign.
However, questions remain about the feasibility of holding a one-person, one-vote election in the country, as opposition politicians argue that the current political and security situation is not conducive for such an electoral process.
Some opposition figures believe that insisting on this model of election under the present circumstances could lead to political instability and tension across the nation.
