BEIJING – Ambassador Dr. Hodan Osman Abdi, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to China, officially presented a copy of her diplomatic credentials to Mr. Li Jinjin, Deputy Director of the National Protocol Department at China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a ceremony held today in Beijing.
The meeting, which took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, marked a significant moment in the ongoing diplomatic relations between Somalia and China. Ambassador Abdi underscored the importance of her role in representing Somalia and highlighted the potential for future cooperation between the two nations.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties, with a focus on expanding mutual interests and collaboration. The Ambassador and Mr. Li emphasized the shared history and the importance of continued partnership, agreeing to accelerate efforts to further the bilateral relationship.
Ambassador Abdi expressed her gratitude to the Chinese government for its warm reception and eagerness to engage with Somalia, marking the beginning of a new chapter in Somali-Chinese diplomatic relations.
